Allie and Connor's groomal sneak peek

We had to battle several last minute location changes and negative 1000 degree weather, but all in all? I think it was SO worth it!

Britta's Portrait Session

So I've been saving this session to post on a rainy day to match it.  That day was yesterday (so I'm a little behind...but my heart was in the right place!)  Britta never got her senior pictures taken when she graduated a year or so ago and wanted to get a portrait session to make up for it.  I said, let's do it!  It's never too late to have a session that is all about YOU.  I was a bit worried the day of when it was pouring, but as it turns out, that's exactly what Britta wanted.  There's just something about the rain that elevates the spirit, isn't there? (Until I come home and discover the roof is leaking again...but that is another matter entirely.)
.

This next one reminds me so much of old photographs I've seen of my grandmother taken in the 1930s.
It just makes me feel so nostalgic.

Kayson's First Birthday pics...sneak peek

It's hard to believe that we go from a newborn to this in one year.  Amazing.  Isn't this guy a doll?  Such a fun night tonight on the extremely busy Lagoon Park trail (seriously, there were like 20 photographers there tonight!)   Can't wait to share more, but since I just took 'em today, this will have to do for now! :)

Sneak Peek for the Fry family

I love being able to take pictures for families year after year because its so fun to watch them grow up!  Aren't these girls just gorgeous?  Let me tell you...there's no shortage of sweet and sassy in this family!

To Celebrate National Adoption Month...

Earlier this week I was contacted by a sweet lady named Sharon Crown (who recently attended the workshop I cohosted in September) about doing something special for National Adoption Month.  Sharon and her family recently welcomed a special baby girl into their family through adoption.  I hadn't really thought much about adoption before this year...but in the last several months I've met some amazing birthmoms, some blessed adoptive families, and even had some of my own family (a cousin and his awesome wife) start the adoption process themselves.  So, needless to say, Sharon's request touched me.  I jumped at the chance to contribute.  So please, go to Sharon's blog, where the giveaway is being hosted, and check out the details and show your support for adoption.

Inspire Me Monday--the Rescues

Okay, I have to be honest.  I don't know a dang thing about this band (called the Rescues).  A fellow photographer I'm friends with on facebook posted this first video (the cover of Teenage Dream) a few days ago and I watched it mostly out of boredom. Surprise--I LOVED it.  Forget Katy Perry...these guys took a song I never liked and made it something I can't resist.  I fully intend to download their album today.

Turns out they have a few other sweet youtube videos I need to share as well.  The videography plus the music...amazing.  Also love that they ALL play instruments AND sing.  Check them out.  I'm in heaven.

this one sort of reminds me of that old song "Teenage Dirtbag" But in a good way. If you can believe that. :)

Ahhh...my soul is happy. Did I mention how much I love the videography? Moving photographs.

And one last one, for good measure.
