Inspire Me Monday--Vienna Teng

Okay so I know I missed last week so I decided to make this weeks post extra awesome.  The musician I had to feature this week is a girl by the name of Vienna Teng.  I don't remember how I found her music, just that I fell completely head over heels for it.  And I love her story.  She was a successful computer programmer who left her stable job to pursue music.  It just goes to show...its never to late to do what you love.

I have to admit I have a bit of a soft spot in my heart for a girl who sings and plays the piano.  At one point in my life (like from ages 14 to 16, before reality set in, haha) I fancied that  to be something I wanted to do.  Never mind that I can't read a lick of music. (Okay, I can.  But it takes me like all day to figure out one single measure.) I used to make up songs on the piano and sing them, even did it in public a few times.  So when I found Vienna Teng it was like seeing what I had wanted to be (though I lacked the talent and gumption) made real.  It was awesome.

My favorite song of all time is her song "Gravity."  Not kidding.  Of. All. Time.  And though it came several albums back it has remained her most popular song and therefore the first to be treated to a full-on music video.  And they couldn't have done a better job.  (Cloudy sea scape, gorgeous period dress, a mysterious/romantic storyline...um, yeah.  It is beautiful.)  Check it out here:




And because it is my second favorite song, and to show how much she must rock live (Yeah, she's never come to Salt Lake as far as I know...but if she ever does, I am so there.) I had to throw this in, it is called Antebellum.  Also totally amazing. :)

This morning I drove to Thanksgiving Point to take some pics for this super cute family, I just can't get enough of these guys!  It was sooo hot and sunny, but so gorgeous!  I haven't even had time to look through all of these yet, but here is one that jumped out to me right away.

Thank goodness Moab is right around the corner...I need a vacation! :)

Just got back from this gorgeous wedding right smack in the middle of my marathon week...

The Davis Kids--sneak peek!

This morning I got to show 3 super fun girls from Wahlquist Jr. High what I did for a living. (So flattering that they asked me if they could job shadow!) 

And we lucked out...our subjects this morning were only the cutest kids ever.  No lie.  I actually had to tell the girls not to count on being able to photograph kids this well behaved...ever. :)

So I hope, at the end of the day they learned that, yeah.  My job rocks. :)
