Last Day!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to remind everyone that today is the last day to contact me about 2009 pricing. Tomorrow is a big day, I'll be unveiling my 2010 catalog and doing some spiffing up around here.  Gotta get everything lookin good for the new year, right?

On another note, due to low volume in my "What did Santa bring you?" Contest for free engagements (I know!  I can't believe it either!), I am opening it up for another week and making it open to all engagement stories--holiday or not.  Did he take you to a fancy restaurant?  Surprise you in the middle of the street? I want to know!

These are FREE engagements we're talking about here, people...and I'm just dying to give them away!  Email me your story before the end of the day Sunday the 6th to enter!

And because not photo blog should have a post without a picture, here is another from Tasha and Hardy's sealing on Monday:

Have a safe and happy new year!

Cold, beautiful day

Today I got to spend some time with this sweet couple from San Diego who came to Salt Lake to be sealed in the temple this afternoon...Poor Californians!  They got a taste of Utah's winter in the frigid cold today!  Here is a quick peek at their lovely photos.

What did Santa bring you?

It is no secret that Christmas is the perfect time to pop the question... I know a good portion of my 2010 brides will have gotten engaged over the Christmas and New Years holidays.  I want to hear your stories!  Send me an email with your Christmas engagement story ( it doesn't have to have taken place ON Christmas but it does have taken place somewhere between December 1st and New Years Day) and my panel of judges (which includes my sisters, mom, my MIL, and a couple of close friends and MAYBE my husband if I can get him to sit and listen to them) and I will choose our favorite story to receive a great prize: a FREE engagement session ($299 value).

Plus, any bride I book for 2010 that tells me they got engaged for Christmas will receive a FREE 11x14 print added to their package!

When you email me, please include your name, your fiance's name, and the date (if you haven't picked one yet, just give me a ballpark) of your wedding and the best way to contact you if you win.

You have until the end of the day Saturday, January 2nd to enter.  The winner will be announced on Monday, January 4th.

Merry Christmas everyone!  And here's to a happy 2010!

The Johansen Family {Christmas Card Sessions 2009}

Tia was one of my roommates in college...and she is still one of my favorite people!  Her little boy was born less than 2 months after mine, so we definitely know what the other is going through pretty much any day of the week. I got to photograph Squirmy when he was still just a new guy--I can't believe how much they grow up in a year!  He's so handsome!  Can I just say how much I love this family?  Bunches.

Kid in a Candy Store...or Ice Cream Shop!

This post is soo long overdue!  These are the Morrow kids, and to win them over to the idea of having their pictures taken, we took them to get some ice cream.  You know, sweeten the deal.  :)  And, lucky me, I get to take pictures of their new baby sister when she makes her appearance in the next few weeks!

Things to know...plus a sneak peek

Hi everyone!  I just wanted to give everyone a short update.... The first thing you need to know is that I will be taking a much needed holiday from the 20th-28th of December.  I won't be taking print orders or editing or blogging or anything...me, a book, my blanket and cup of hot cocoa are gonna get reeeal friendly.  I will, however, be taking phone calls and emails, so if you need to contact me, I will be readily available. :)

The second thing you need to know is that my prices and policies will be changing a bit on January first.  If you are a bride or groom planning a 2010 wedding, you must have a consult scheduled by January 1st to receive the 2009 pricing.  (That is worded kinda strangely.  You only have to contact me via email or phone and arrange your consult before the 1st...we don't have to actually have the consult before the 1st, that would be stressful!)

If you are wanting to book your 2010 wedding with me, please don't wait! I have already booked 2010 weddings as far out as July.  And to ensure the very best service to all my clients (and to maintain some semblance of sanity!), I am limiting the weddings I will book this next year.  So please email me or call me soon to ensure your wedding date is still available.

And since no post is complete without a photo, here is a quick peek at Clay and Clarissa's gorgeous wedding last week:

  XOXOXO

Seeing the Light Photography Workshop

What a great day! Special thanks go to all the attendees, it was so great to meet you all and I wish you the absolute best in your photography pursuits! I also want to thank our super cute models for their willingness to be paraded through the snow. And the guys at the Grand Suites for their help and generosity. Thanks to Sam of Samantha Jane Images for helping me get all of this together! I don't know about anybody else but I had a great time and I can't wait to do it again! Though I am tempted to sleep for a few days first. ;)
