I was putting this together for a special "Inspire Me Monday" post and then decided I just couldn't wait. I wanted to post it all today!
One of the things I love the most about my job is that I get to meet so many amazing people, all so different. I've spent a lot of time on this blog telling everyone about the outside things that influence my style (art, movies, music, anything that strikes my fancy really.) but I need to give credit where credit is due. What brings the life and personality to any image is the subject of the image. My clients. A great picture is mostly about their relationship with each other and less about their relationship to me or my camera. Basically, the best inspiration is the couple standing in front of me.
Which brings me to Karlee and David. They are musicians. And when I say they are musicians, I mean, music pervades every part of their existence, as individuals and as a couple. Heck, their love story began at a performance. And their beautiful wedding last week was less a stiff, formal occasion and more an opportunity for them to celebrate their union with laughter and music. They had performances of all kinds: old love songs sung in harmony by relatives who remember the good old days, "Love Story" sung by sweet little sisters, moving ballads done by David's bandmates, violin pieces, cello/violin duets, piano solos, accoustic guitar performances, newly written songs and old classics. David played a song he wrote for Karlee. And at the luncheon, they played together their own rendition of Coldplay's "Yellow." (As seen here, video by me at their luncheon. Sorry for the terrible quality...I do still pictures much better.)
You can also find a sneak peek of their wedding day on my facebook page here.
